Restore the Color of Old Lego Bricks
Why on earth am I putting this on my blog about machine knitting? Well, ya know, all the plastic machines seem to yellow after a few years. I personally don't do anything to try to make them look better, except a gentle cleaning. I worry about possible damage to the plastic, of course.
Have you gotten the yellow off an old machine? Do you think your method was safe? How'd you do it?

Ooo I will be interested to see if anyone has done it. I did give mine a thorough cleaning ( from a smoking home), it did remove the smell but is still yellow.
ReplyDeleteI would never try that lego thing though... too scared of what it might do... lol It would be good to experiment on an old throw away machine ( if there are any left), not just to see if it works but any long term effects to the integrity of the plastic... ie: does it make it brittle? smell? crack etc :)
