New Videos - Bulky Mittens (Ultimate Sweater Machine)
I finally got the mitten video finished! This is a match-up for the scarf and hat made on the Ultimate Sweater Machine. As you do this mitten, you will practice:
The double e-wrap cast-on
Latching up ribbing
Decreases
Increases
Gathered cast-on for thumb
Mattress stitch steams
Latched trim
This is not a fancy or expensive machine, and yet, look what nice things we were able to make, and how quickly!
Diana, you are fabulous!!! I have been knitting for 30 years but still love to watch your videos. I am teaching a new student on the LK150 so your videos are excellent for tutoring. Thank you for doing them. Happy New Year.Arlene from AZ
Hi, Diana! I love these mittens, and I do own the USM, but I hate using it, except when I need lots of needles (I have 2 extensions for it). I would prefer to do these on the Brother 260 bulky machine. Any idea what keyplate 1 translates to on the tension dial particularly since the Brother is an 8mm machine and the USM is a 9mm machine?
Diana, after my success with your hat I'm off to make these mittens! I really appreciate your generosity in making these available. I found my Incredible Sweater Machine in a thrift shop and would hardly know what to do with it. Your work is much appreciated.
Yeah!!! I was hoping the mittens were coming!! I love this set!! Whoo hoo!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you SO MUCH Diana for all your videos!!!
ReplyDeleteEvery new project of yours is like another Christmas present for me :)
Happy Holidays!
Anna.
This makes a very nice set, thank you. Lots of good skills learned!

ReplyDeleteWhoops! I meant since the USM is 8mm and the Brother is 9mm. I always get those two sizes mixed up!

ReplyDeleteYour videos are amazing, is there any way we can know how to size down this pattern for children?
ReplyDeleteMy book, "The Goldilocks Challenge," has it in size 4, 8, 12, women and men.

I love these mittens, can you please tell me if you have a pattern of these mittens for a standard gauge machine.

These, along with a bunch of other bulky patterns, are in "The Goldilocks Challenge" book. It is available at www.dianaknits.com.
