Peek-A-Boo Bear

I make tiny teddy bears out of small amounts of leftover yarn (definitely not a stash-buster).

Children like them because they're small and soft.  They'll fit in a pocket, backpack, or sock - or an Easter Basket.  He's only 7 inches (18 cm) long, and the yarn is leftover sock yarn or 2/12 knitting machine yarn.

The pattern is over at Knit Natters website.

  1. What size yarn are you using for your teddies?

  2. The teddy bear is adorable but the socks are also adorable. Gave me an idea to make a pair of socks, each stuffed with a bear. Just gotta fiqure out how to make one look like a little girl bear. Maybe a skirt over leggings?
    Thanks again Diana,

  3. What a great idea! A girly bear. I can just picture her body pink or lavender. Then you could make her outfit girly colors and add a little pull-in skirt. I suppose if you're really creative you could add rosettes, lace, whatever fun embellishments you have in your crafts. All I ask is please, please send a photo for us to share!

  4. It's leftover sock yarn and leftover knitting machine yarn - either 2 strands of 2/24 or one strand of 2/12.

  5. Diana I can't get the pattern for this cute little bear. It says the page is no longer available. I am a member of a Mother's Union and we have a few knitting projects for the local hospital. We knit for the premature babies and also "Trauma Teddies" which are given to children as a comforter when they have unpleasant procedures to come through or who are just having a bad day and need a bit of cheering up. At this size they would be really quick for me to knit up and sew. Up to now I have hand knit them but if you could let me have a link to the pattern I would be very grateful.

  6. We had some website problems, and I suppose that pattern was a casualty. I will search for a replacement.
